The Beginnings of Judaism

Join us beginning May 6 as we begin viewing and discussing a series of lectures by an Israeli scholar entitled The Beginnings of Judaism. We will explore the question of how Judaism developed from its biblical roots to the highly developed system of today.

It has been said that the past is linked to the present, and so, the answer to this question is pertinent to all faith traditions as well as those interested in Biblical history.

We will look at variety of literature—the Hebrew Bible, the Septuagint, the Aprocrypha and the Book of Jubilees, and more.

Other subjects that will be explored include Qumran, Messianic Eschatology, the Diaspora, the Roman Period.

All ages are encouraged to attend this class. See the FAQ for class schedules. Class size is limited. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
